Likely Solution |
| How long does it take to get my
certificate from the State? |
It can take as much as 4-6 weeks.
Usually it is much faster. We recommend sending in all your documentation
together at the same time. |
| I do not know which agency to file
with. the Board or DHS, or perhaps both. |
If your business is selling and
distributing drugs and devices then you will be applying for the
Designated Representative Certificate through the California Board of
Pharmacy.
If your business is a home medical device
retailer sales or service then you are applying for the Exemptee
Certificate through the Department of Health Services. |
| Do I have to have one year of paid
lawful experience to get a Designated Representative Certificate? |
Yes. |
| Can I take the class before I have one
year of experience? |
Yes. Then hold your application until
after the one year of experience date. |
| Who should sign my Certificate of
Completion for training? |
SkillsPlus will be sending that to you
as soon as you complete the class and respond to item number 9 at the
bottom of the Topic Outline page.. |
| Is SkillsPlus an approved provider
of this training? |
Technically, the State can not approve
or authorize any service provider. Having said that, we have been offering
the class for the Board and DHS for years and our students are routinely
accepted and approved for certification by the Board and DHS. |
