Review the items below for that which best describes your issue or question.

Problem Likely Solution
I can't hear the audio

Please do not take this wrong, but here are some of the common problems.

  1. Re-plug in speakers.

  2. Check for a live power supply.

  3. To turn up the volume on the PC use the volume control or

  4. To turn up the volume control via the control panel:.

  • Click START

  • Click CONTROL PANEL

  • Click SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES

  • Click VOLUME

  • Verify that the volume has been set to high.

I can't see any video

If you can see other video, it may be that your corporate server or local Internet connection is experiencing significant data flow load. If you are attempting to view this class using a dial up connection click here.

Can't print the handout

The handout is a PDF document. It is a large file.

  1. Try printing it from another printer.

  2. Try saving it to a CD and printing from another computer.

Screen frequently freezes and I must restart the class.

This may be symptomatic of a dial up connection attempting to view the broadband files.

  1. Try viewing the class using the Audio Only version of the classes.

The screen launches the class and then freezes. You may need to upgrade to the most current version of Adobe Flash Player. Follow these steps.


1. Launch the class as you have been doing, or trying to do.

2. Right-click on the presentation screen in the center of the monitor.

3. Click on About Adobe Flasher Player

4. the most current version should be  9,0,124,0. If not your version is out of date. Updating to the most current version may help.

5. Scroll down to the blue text Player Download Center and click that text.

6. Click on Agree and Download now. DISCLAIMER: SkillsPlus performs updates to the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player with out any trouble to our systems. Your systems may react differently than ours. If you are unsure about how your PC will act after this update we encourage you to check with you internal IT group. You are welcome to call our office to discuss this update before proceeding.

7. Pop-up Box - Did You Notice the Information Bar? If this pops up you will need to follow the instructions in the box. Close the box and in the yellow bar at the top click Install ActiveX.

8. Click Install.

9. Restart your PC

10. You may also want to try the steps in the box these instructions.

Certificate printing, and the screen goes blank and nothing happens.

Depending on your connection, the certificate can take up to 3 minutes to print. Please be patient.

This is symptomatic of having pop up blockers turned ON.

  1. Turn off pop up blockers just long enough to print the certificate. That is the fix. You may need/want to check with your firms IT group to assure it does not violate corporate policy. We would not want you to get in trouble for this.

The class starts to launch and nothing happens or the screen freezes before anything happens.

This is a symptom of the new security protections of Windows Explorer. You will need to add the Adobe site to your approved sites. Follow these suggestions.

1. Clear the cache

  • Click on Tools on the IE menu bar.

  • Click on Internet Options

  • Click on the General Tab

  • Click on Delete Files

2. Upgrade to the current version of Flashplayer.

3. Modify the Macromedia Flash Player Security. Click here.

I Use Firefox web browser

Our program works with Firefox. Be prepared to install Firefox Adobe Flash Player plug-ins. We have successfully performed this operation on a test PC in our office. We intentionally do not provide the link for this plug-in here so that your corporate IT team becomes involved in assisting you.
